222 Artisan Bakery
The bakery Trevor also runs. Bags on the shelf and a Plaid roast on every espresso ticket. The easiest place to taste before you buy.

The new shop
Bigger than 222.On Route 66.
The Vandalia Street build is the first dedicated Plaid retail counter. The family bought the building (the former Hi-Way Café and Tavern, plus Neumann's Bar) in January 2023. It is four thousand square feet of recently renovated historic Route 66 building, and it will be bigger than 222.
The original bar stays in place and becomes the coffee bar. Customers will be able to see the roaster room from the floor. We are working bap (the Scottish bread roll), pizza, and bagels into a Scottish-leaning menu, and we are reaching out to the cycling community because the MCT Quercus Grove Trail runs right by the door.
We are not announcing an opening date yet. Construction is ongoing.

Where can I buy Plaid Coffee?
Year-round retail bags at 222 Artisan Bakery and Clementines Ice Creamery in Edwardsville, IL. Seasonally at Goshen Market in Edwardsville and Tower Grove Saturday Market in St. Louis on Saturday mornings. A dedicated Plaid shop is being built at 463 E Vandalia Street, Edwardsville.
When is the Vandalia Street shop opening?
Construction is ongoing. The family purchased the historic Hi-Way Café and Tavern building (4,000 sq ft) in January 2023. We have not announced an opening date yet. Email or call Plaid for the latest.

How can I taste a roast before I buy?
Order an espresso or pour-over at 222 Artisan Bakery, the bakery Trevor also runs. Every cup is poured from a Plaid roast. The staff will tell you which roast they are pulling that day, and bags are stocked at the counter.
